I finally got my MRC unit up and working. It sounds pretty good/ I have the speaker mounted under my small platform and pointing out through the base of my mountain tunnel. The only odd thing I noticed is when I run my Steam Loco very slow the sound decoder seems to tripple the steam puffs. As soon as I speed it up a little bit it seems to work just fine? Thanks --Ken

Ken, So, should we all go out and buy this system? Or wait for a better offering next year? Cheers, Jim CCRR

Hey Jim--- I guess for 50 Clams it is not a bad deal. It has plenty of railsounds that each can be sort of tweeked. but as mentioned in earlier threads you must enclose the speaker some how to get the best low end/ othewise it sounds very tinny. Works great for what I have - But maybe not for everyone- If you have a small layout that is not a ongoing working progress it might just be the ticket. Thanks --Ken

I have finally hooked up my sound box on the new layout for DCC. I lengthened all the wires to make using it easier. Programming was a bit awkward and the long addresses don't go high enough for some of my locos (I use road numbers for addresses) so I will have to change the addresses on some to use it. But, it sounds pretty good. I am thinking of getting another sound box so I can have sound for two trains at a time. Since you program it like a sound decoder this should work. Might be nice to be running one diesel and a steamer at the same time. Anyone tried multiple sound boxes?
