Announcing the new chassis by LG Thek Brassworks was created by Alaska Railroader
Stonebridge Models is pleased to announce the release of a new small brass Z scale chassis by Lajos Thek. We are honored to be an authorized dealer for this new loco chassis. it measures 21mm short.

"This extremely powerful small chassis is designed to run on Z-scale track, so besides Z, it's the perfect candidate for Nn3 and even HOn2 projects.
The chassis is assembled from precision etched phosphor bronze components, the motor is high torque coreless, rated 10V DC. The 4.4 mm diameter wheels with very fine flanges are made of nickel silver. The chassis and the wheels are blackened. The wheel wipers are made of highly flexible aerospace quality phosphor bronze to ensure long lasting, dependable electric contacts. The gear ratio is 1:38, the maximum scale speed is approximately 50 mph in Z-scale, 36 mph in Nn3. The mounting brackets are designed for the correct installation of MTL 905 couplers and universal attachment possibilities of various locomotive bodies."

It measures 21 mm long (not including coupler brackets which can be shortened), 15 mm high from the top of rails, and 8 mm wide above the wheels.

First batch has arrived and mine is running around the test track flawlessly right now! I have mailed out the rest and more are due to arrive by next week. I really think this is going to be a hit as there is no stronger loco of its size available to date. What a great yard switcher this will be, Stony is working on a shell and there are ideas floating about for more. One thing for sure, the shell, or inside the shell will need to be weighted. Loren is going to cast our Shapeways Shell (from Stony Smith) into metal. If you are interested in purchasing one of these critters you can get it from Lajos or from our site. It is the same price either place.
