Newbie Diesel Question!

I just recently purchased a Marklin Starter set - #8172. When I placed the Diesel on the track all I got was Smoke? Is my Diesel fixable. Thanks ---Ken

Ken, I dont think is dead. I would take off the Bottom covers to see what is binding the engine. Maybe its the hard oil syndrome. Since you are a newbie, try not to take the wheels out. Its hard to align them again. Add oil to the gears and see if that helps. Otherwise, I suggest that you send the engine to the Stykas. They are experts on repairing Marklin engines. I think they charge $45 for the service, but it will run better then new.

I have sent quite a few engines to the Stiskas, including Marklin, MTL and AZL. You can't go wrong as they all came back running great.

Talked to Glenn on Friday - He said he would get my Marklin Diesel running great. I also sent a Marklin 4-6-2 Steamer for a tune up.
