Just some info. Z scale won it's first photo contest on Trainboard this weekend. I entered a photo and from about 10 others won first place. A first for Z there. Cheers, Jim CCRR:woohoo:

Nice job Jim!
Glad to see us represented by one of our best. I found the thread earlier but can't find it now, could you post a link?

Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks Jerry, Try this:http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=108381

The photo contest says you have to take the picture in the 72 hr window. I just went in snapped one and entered. I didn't think the photo was that good. I didn't expect any good results. I've entered before but it seems like the same ole boys win every time??

That's wonderful Jim. Great picture, but a diesel?? I used your link to see contest-- How do we know when the next contest is? You really did well considering you were in Indian territory. ( read BIGGER scales and anti z bias) Get Jurg, Rob Ray,Torsja, Joe. Loren and so many others to enter and the other scales will have to wake up--- That's talking directly to the choir. Trainboard has a BIG following and it would be great to see Z take it's rightful place.

Thanks Fred, I just noticed that TB will be running these contests more often. I put in a diesel because it was already on the track pulling the old cars. I figured I needed a catchy title so I went with it. One of the rules is that a photo MUST be taken within the 72 hr. Challenge period. With digital there are no secrets! Surprisingly I don't think I got a single vote, that I know of, from the Z'ers there. It was all from the larger scale guys. There is a difference in membership between us I guess. As for TB as a whole it has over 10,000 members and about 15 regular Z participants. And, it is not a place for the timid. Your every comment and contribution is under a microscope there, if you make an error or omission you will here about it. It is here too, but the atmosphere is better at ZCS. I'm a participant there, not so much in Z, but in modeling in general. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)
